The steam mop is a wonderful and time-saving cleaning tool. It is a mop that uses steam to clean floor and carpets. Unlike regular mop, it does not require any cleaning agents such as bleach or detergent, it uses heat to disinfectant the floors.

The steam mop was first imagined by RomiHaan in 1998 and built up a model in 2001 and in 2004 it was popular in the market.

WORKING OF STEAM MOP:

A steam mop is a simple system it works by heating up water from a reservoir inside the mop to a temperature around 250F and convert it into steam. This steam jet will go down to the pad covering the head and clean your walls and floors.

The microfiber pad placed below the jet where steam is discharged will catch all the dust and grim when the system is operational. A steam mop maintains the natural shine of the floor by removing the residue.

HOW TO USE STEAM MOP TO CLEAN TILE FLOORS?

  1. SWEEP AND VACCUM

Before steaming the floor, it is necessary to vacuum the floor. Brooms can also be used if the vacuum is not available. But vacuum creates good suction to pull all the dust and surface debris, preventing them from dirtying the mop pad.

In market dual-function sweeper/steam mop are available. They are very handy and work efficiently.

  1. PAD PREPARATION:

There should be several pads in your hand while using a steam mop to prevent smearing of dirt.

These pads can easily be washed and dried. Changing the pads whenever it becomes dirty ensures a clean mopping.

  1. ASSESS THE SURFACE OF THE FLOOR

This is not a matter of quality, but of general floor care. Steam mops should only be used on sealed floors as some surfaces may be harmed by excess moisture.

In particular, steam cleaners are safe to use on any kind of vinyl or linoleum floor, on ceramic or porcelain tiles, and on some types of hardwood and laminate floors.

Many laminate floors sold as water-resistant may be perfect for steam cleaning, while other items may be alerted to it. Steam cleaners can drive steam down between laminate boards through joints and can damage the core layer.

Typically, water-resistant laminates are made in the core layer with special water-resistant resins, and these floors can accept just fine steam cleaning.

A properly sealed wood floor can accept light steam cleaning, and most wood floor manufacturers take care not to use any water or steam-based cleaning methods that may discolor or warp wood.

  1. STEAM CLEAN THE FLOOR

Go ahead and wash the floor with your steam cleaner once you have checked that the floor surface is clear. Attach a mop pad to the steam cleaner’s foot, fill the reservoir with water and power it up as instructed by the manufacturer.

Keep the steam mops moving as you wash constantly and don’t let it idle anywhere.

Adjust the pad as it gets dirty as you don’t just want to scatter dust around the surface. You can make multiple lights pass through the whole floor for thorough cleaning.

  1. WASH THE PADS

Steam cleaner probably came with instructions on how to wash the pads, but in general, it works fine just to wash them with other whites and hang them up to dry.

This works particularly well with microfiber pads. Keep a good supply of clean pads so that the next time you wash your floors you’re ready to go.

A steam mop can be a good way to wash the ground daily routine maintenance. Just be sure to remove loose dirt before you start by sweeping and vacuuming.
